In this episode Glenn Pasch speaks with Jim Shorkey about his journey and his newest venture to help others. Jim shared how his big ego when he first took over his father's business drove it to the brink of bankruptcy.
Realizing his situation and responsibility to the family business he used "failure motivation" to change direction. He reached out to a mentor, asked for help, applied the teaching and grew his business 10 fold. It was the power of failure motivation that drives his to this day.
About Jim: In just over a decade, Jim Shorkey expanded his Western Pennsylvania automotive dealership, a company that has been in his family for decades, into a six-dealership conglomerate that is consistently ranked among the top performing companies, in any industry, in the region.
In his personal writing journal, he made a special notation in December of 2007 as to what his next steps would be: to help other business owners and leaders achieve the same level of success, if not higher, that he had. Enter Jim's newest venture, Results From Thinking (resultsfromthinking.com), a platform upon which Jim and his team can work with entrepreneurs and professionals in order to help them become more successful in their personal and professional endeavors.
